The growth of Memory Foam
Once upon a time people suffered from a lack of sleep due to their uncomfortable traditional steel spring mattresses. They developed pressure sores on their heels from wearing shoes that were a bad fit or did not provide the support the foot needs. Some even suffered a lack of productivity in their working lives due to sitting on un comfy traditional office chairs that not only did not support their back during their day to day activities but also compressed the legs against the “cushioning” of the seat resulting in people having to shift from side to side to get comfy again. Thankfully however in recent years their has been a significant improvement in technology, and that technology is Memory Foam!
Memory foam these days comes in a variety of different forms and has given hope to the thousands of people that suffer from lack of sleep due to their un comfy traditional sprung mattresses. Hope that one day they may wake up in the morning and not be suffering from a stiff neck or other aches and pains caused by the lack of support a sprung mattress gives. The unique properties that memory foam offers is it's viscosity, capable of stretching and absorbing weight for long period's of time and still be able to return to its original shape after such compression. This unique property gave rise to memory foams technical name of visco elastic foam.
Currently in use in ergonomically conscious pillows, mattresses, beds, slippers and in very recent times, dog beds. That's right you can even get the superb support and comfort in your pets bed, which is great if your loved pet is getting on in the years or has medical conditions that effect it's mobility. Supporting the extremities of the body, memory foam lifts and cushions pressure points such as knees, hips and shoulders, absorbing their weight and following the form of your body at the same time as providing support for the other areas of your body. What this does it allow your body and spine to rest in it's natural form and not be twisted or face uneven pressure such as that given by a traditional mattress.
If you're looking for something extra from your mattress then you certainly can't go wrong with a memory foam mattress and with the prices falling by the day it's fast becoming affordable for every budget range.
